Would You Relocate To Play More Pickleball?

Hi Pickleballers -
I have determined that there are two types of people in the world: those who like outdoor pickleball and those who prefer indoor pickleball. I’ve always thought of myself as an outdoor player. I don’t mind the elements. A good stiff wind can add an interesting element to the game. It’s always entertaining when the sun is in your opponent’s eyes.
However, there’s one element that’s a deal breaker. And that is darkness. I don’t even know if darkness is an element, but whatever. This is a bad time of the year if you’re an outdoor player playing on courts without light. And it’s about to get worse! I didn’t consider doing anything about it until now…
I have never played indoor pickleball until this past week. And it is awesome! We went to the The Hub in San Jose, CA. It had 20 perfectly designed and surfaced pickleball courts. They also have skinny singles courts, which look about 2/3s the size of a normal court. The lighting took some getting used to in a few spots, but overall, this place is pickleball heaven.
So now we have a dilemma…
Do we sneak out of work early to play outdoor pickleball before dark? Or, do we relocate closer to a place with beautiful indoor courts open until 10 p.m. most nights?
