SwingVision is good for matches and a great way to review practice sessions. We had it going while waiting for the 4th to show up. I could review court position, posture, stance, and a few other things in just a few minutes of footage. It’s pretty incredible how quickly you can improve by watching yourself on video.
Currently, the app only works on an iPhone, and I believe Android will be next once the camera is good enough to capture the footage. It’s not required, but you can also control it with an iWatch. Hi Pickleballers -
Over the past few years, we’ve used all our time off for pickleball destination vacations. Within hours of showing up at a new court, we make new friends and get invited into games and tournaments. We’re still in touch with fellow pickleball players from each place we’ve visited.
We plan on renting a place with an on-site pickleball court for our next trip. Luckily, there is an explosion of private courts being built in every city around the US, giving pickleball players a lot of good options. Arizona is a likely candidate for our next trip, and below are a few places we’re considering.
A few notes when researching Airbnb and VRBOs:
What level player are you? Many advanced players don’t like the way balls bounce on sport courts. This will eliminate a lot of options.
Check out the layout. We found a home in Scottsdale with a 5.0 rating, but the pickleball court ended at the baseline. You would have to serve from a gravel area on each side.
Below are a few options we’re considering. Let me know if you’ve been to any of these or have opinions on private pickleball courts.
1. Pickleball Paradise in Scottsdale, AZ
6-bedroom pad with a heated pool & spa, arcade, putting green, and a full-on sports court for pickleball and volleyball.
This cool spot is just a stroll away from food, drinks, and shopping, plus it's near top golf, nightlife, and all the shopping you can handle in Scottsdale. It's kid-friendly and only a short drive to Kierland and Old Town. You're right where you need to be!
Kick back in a killer backyard with a massive tiki hut, sports court, giant putting green, and loads of outdoor games for everyone. Snack on citrus straight from the trees and enjoy a massive grassy area with toys for kids, big and small. The arcade room has a ping pong table, games, pop-a-shot, air hockey, and even bunk beds.
This Scottsdale getaway boasts six bedrooms across 3,300 sq ft, fits up to 16 guests, and has three bathrooms. There's a game room with a pool table, a spacious living area, and a kitchen with all the bells and whistles—plus speedy Wi-Fi all over.
Chill in the living room with comfy modern furniture and a Smart TV. The game room has a pool table, board games, and another big TV.
The kitchen's been upgraded with fancy appliances and has a great backyard view. Dining's set for 12, with extra seats at the island.
2. Pickleball Family Oasis in Scottsdale, AZ
Check out this awesome Scottsdale spot with a heated pool and its very own pickleball court! It's a total dream house that's been jazzed up by a pro decorator and owners who really know their stuff. You're getting a huge private yard to roam around, plus a cool private bar/saloon decked out with a karaoke machine, poker table, and TVs. Talk about style and fun packed into one place!
The place sleeps 8 with three bedrooms—a king bed in the primary, a queen in the second, and two queens in the third. Plus, there are two bathrooms stocked with all the essentials.
In a killer Scottsdale location, this home is perfect for anyone looking to relax in style and have a blast. It's got everything a top-notch Airbnb should have, and it's all about having a good time and supporting equality. Get ready to kick back and enjoy!
3. Luxury Pickleball Getaway in Phoenix, AZ
